Living in the Light
“This, then, is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who practices wicked things hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”
John 3:19-21 HCSB
Living by truth not only brings you into the Light, so anyone can see your deeds but also it lifts you and makes your burdens light. Abiding in Christ is living in the Light. Living in the Light is having no dark corners where your enemy can hide and plot your downfall.
The joy of living in the Light and knowing all your sins are forgiven is freeing. It is like a breeze lifts you up and carries you along.
However, living in darkness is heavy as you drag your unresolved issues around. You are constantly battling spot fires that spontaneously ignite when you least expect them to.
Abiding in Christ is allowing His thoughts and attitudes to rule. Peace dwells here. You are by the seaside and at rest even if you live in a desert.
Abiding is yieldedness! Try it!
