Ouch! Discipline Hurts!

No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Therefore strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.
Hebrews 12:11‭-‬13 HCSB

Discipline speaks of family. Each family disciplines differently. Some give more leeway than others. Some believe in smacking, some don't. However, the end result reveals the worth of the style chosen. I am watching this in my grandchildren.

Being able to speak on speaker phone allows all in the car to hear. Last night I was speaking to my son and my grandson interrupted to say 'Hi'. His father then said "Myer is learning not to interrupt." I feel for Myer. We have a relationship also and I am glad he interrupted, this time.

I am sure my grandson is not enjoying his discipline. However, he is learning respect. God will use this training.

I grew up attending a Catholic school. I am grateful they taught me about Jesus. I am so grateful for the lessons learned. Some seemed harsh at the time, but now I am grateful. One day my grandson will be grateful.

If we are left without discipline we are adrift and do not have a base to live from. Good Discipline is Godly. Discipline is never pleasant at the time but it's fruit is good- peace and righteousness! Amen!
