Who's Agenda?

Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Philippians 2:3‭-‬4 HCSB

Rivalry and conceit are fruits of the flesh. To be able to be humble we must be empowered by God. Selfishness is who we are without Christ or Christ in control.

How do we look out for the interests of others? If we are carers of children or elderly parents we are baptized into activities that demand us 'do' for others. We can 'do' willingly or with complaint and resentment. There are always times of strain and in these times a requirement for us to 'die to self'. As we die to self we allow the HOLY spirit room to move.

Compassion enables us to lay down our own agendas for others. Compassion that comes from the Holy Spirit sees others healed and restored, forgiven and cleansed. Compassion is powerful, when God oriented, not so when flesh driven. We can be caught up in 'doing good' and self-righteousness apart from God and it leads to death.

Today, let's invite the Holy Spirit to lead with His compassion and see what will transpire. Amen!
