Rivarly

Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Philippians 2:3‭-‬4 HCSB

Anyone who loves football know about rivalry. It is surprising how violent opposing teams can become over their individual judgment of a team or the referee. Fortunately modern technology helps solves disputes as video is taken from different angles. However, some even refuse such valid evidence and fights ensue.

James addresses why disputes happen even in Christendom:

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from the cravings that are at war within you? You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires. James 4:1-3

We must be honest and face the fact that without the Holy Spirit being in control, we Christians are just as carnal as the non-believer. We might sanctimoniously believe we are better for going to church. No! Unless the going transpires to new doing.

Lord have mercy!.I pray Your HOLY Spirit will have His way in me! Amen!
