A Great Guest

Therefore, dear friends, since we have such promises, let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit, completing our sanctification in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1

What promises is Paul talking about here? We need to review the chapter preeceeding:
I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.

Basically, God has promised to dwell with us. We are His temple. This concept can be hard to fathom but imagine you had the greatest royal you know come to stay at your house, would you behave differently whilst they were there? Or would you behaviour change in any way?

I am currently in Nepal and I see that the people have decorated their houses and out the front is an elaborately drawn circular art work, from it is a pathway into the house with lights showing the way. This is to attract the god of wealth. Now I understand their fascination with money.

We have the greatest King, the one who calls Himself: I Am, wanting to dwell with us, not just in our house but in our hearts. This is an honour and of great significance. Let us honour Him with our behaviour. Amen!
