Who is The Enemy?

For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.
Ephesians 6:12 HCSB

When Jesus was born and the wise men called by Herod to ask where the new king was born, this created a problem for Jesus. The spirits of darkness had control of Herod and they wanted Jesus dead. They inspired Herod to kill all the babies born around a certain time. He failed, because God was one step ahead. In a dream He instructed Joseph to take his family to Egypt for safety.

God had a clearer picture on who the enemy was, He still does. In anything we seek to achieve our enemy, Satan, seeks to destroy it. This week I am planning to put on a street Christmas party and take unchurched nephews to my church for a day of play. Yesterday my mum became ill. I had forgotten to cover her in prayer. My mum is not the enemy.

When we want to step out in God and do His will, all hell breaks loose. Yet, greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. There is power in prayer. Amen!
