Fruitful Vines

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vineyard keeper. Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.
John 15:1‭-‬2 HCSB

Who are the branches who attend church but are cold on the inside? To these a fate far worse than death awaits. They could be unbelieving Jews, unbelieving Christians, unbelieving atheists.

Who are they who believe? Believers are those who are active in their faith. They live as if Christ is their life-source and answer. They live for Him and in Him.

What can unbelievers do to be saved? Repent and believe. Simple! Believing is a matter of choice not feeling like you believe. Romans 10:9 tells us:

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Living as if Jesus is Lord is evidence of salvation. Attending church is not enough. Confession and behaviour are important.

For us who believe pruning comes. The fruit is gathered and the limbs that are now empty are cut away so that new fruit can receive all the nutrients and grow to healthy fruit. God is interested in fruit. So should we be. Amen!
