Peace is the most sought after state if being. It trumps money and prestige every time. A troubled soul devastated wealthy households just as a knife through butter. We see the result in the high rates of suicide. Unfortunately, we also see it in Christian homes as well.
What causes a lack of peace? Why is peace hard to find? Real, soul releasing peace can only be found in Christ. We can carry the name Christian but if we do not seek Him as desperately as seeking air we will not find His peace. We will know about it but not live it.
Jesus said: come to Me all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-30
We can be troubled with thoughts of comparison, failure, image, guilt, inadequacy. Being bullied does not help. The voice of the bully is a constant tearing away at the core of who we are: "you 're not good enough, you're not acceptable!" Do we really want to be accepted by such individuals? Who needs nasty friends? We need to surround ourselves with those who lift us up and encourage us. Be brave enough to start a new thing. Go the bold!
As we read the Bible we see many bold individuals who dared to stand against the tide. They created a new movement and God was their courage. Amen!
God is your champion, your cheerleader. He is on your side!
