What Love is This?

Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6

As I read this I can paint a picture of a young slave been taken into his master's house and treated like a son, given a room right next to the son and given all the same privileges. It would take the slave quite a time to adapt and depending on his age and previous experience he would constantly expect his good fortune to end.

We are like this. We did not earn our son ship into the fathers house and what makes it even more difficult is the father allowed his son to be taken and badly beaten, then murdered just for our freedom. How dare we live in His house when His son was so treated.

To understand the motivation is such a father is difficult. Is he crazy, sadistic? Did He kill His son out of some perverse delight and will He turn on me?

How will I know these things? Try Him, test Him, walk with Him.

I have walked with him now for 40 years and know He is faithful and true. He gave his son out of love and because He, being God knew the result and knew He would raise up His son and seat him in heavenly places having once and forever won back the open door to His heart, He paid the price.

What love is this? How great is this love that does not judge me nor require payment to appease Him or win His favour. It is free, totally free! Amen!
