When I am Weak, Then I am Strong

Therefore, so that I woul not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so I woul not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with The Lord three times to take it away from me. But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's poweraybreside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor 12:7-10

Paul is defending himself to the Corinthians and had just written about the fact that 14 years hence he was caught up into heaven and saw wonderous things. This all started because a false apostle had made accusations about Paul, endeavouring to glorify himself.

However, Paul had an ailment that made him look small, and this was probably what the accuser was targeting. God had said to Paul that he needed to suck it up and function in His grace and not keep hankering for his own strength.

I can relate to this. Why did God not allow me to continue nursing, my strength but rather have me go back into financial planning, my weakness? To add insult to injury He had me develop a team and learn to manage by myself. Yet a Di rely on His grace, He is glorified and I am humbled.

I struggled to be healed in my hearing, this is a huge bug-bear to me, it makes me rely heavily on God. To His glory evermore! Amen!
