A Mystery So Deep

I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery — Christ. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him.
Colossians 2:2‭-‬3 HCSB

God is a many faceted being. Just when we think we know Him, He surprises us. Paul uses such beautiful, love inspired language when He describes God. When I look at a beautiful butterfly, a tiny, baby mammal I never knew existed, when I discover a new bird or an insect I am in awe. Today I watched a U-Tube clip on the moon Titan, one of the moon's of Saturn. It has lakes of methane. How unusual is that! Yet God created all this for us to discover and as we do we see His beauty.

God's ultimate mystery is Christ. Not just the man we see in the gospels, as if that is a 'just,' but when we discover Him woven throughout the Old Testament like a silver thread, and discover Him as Lord in the book of Revelation; when we see all things held together by a cross-like structure in science, we realise He is everywhere, in all things. He, indeed, is the beginning and the end of all things. He is the air we breathe, He is the light we see, He is the door, He is the path, He is the vine, He is the bread of life and more.

Such mystery awaits us to investigate, navigate and appreciate. What a feast is He. Taste and see that the Lord is good. So good! Amen!
