Benefits of Not Conforming

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 HCSB

Do you grasp the meaning of this verse? By not conforming to a world view you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. Now, imagine each of those words: good, perfect and pleasing, one at a time and roll them around in your imaginary mouth like a piece of delectable chocolate. Savour them each in turn: good....pleasing......perfect.....

Why they are all good. In fact you have never tasted better! These are all yours for the taking as you shun a world view for a good view, a heavenly view.

A world view is formed by experiences. We evaluate God's character according to our experiences: good and bad. However, just suppose they are wrong or distorted. Think about it! These views have been forming forever, since we were tiny. How can tiny minds determine truth in a mature way?

As Christians we have access to His word and His Holy Spirit enlightens it to us. As we study His words they come alive in us. Surely this is a better option.
