Stay Alert

But you, brothers, are not in the dark, for this day to overtake you like a thief. For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness. So then, we must not sleep, like the rest, but we must stay awake and be serious. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, we must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet of the hope of salvation.

It is dark out there! But the Christian has the light to guide them. JESUS said He was the light and that we are the light of the world. We must shine the light into the darkness.

It is not time to be getting drunk, partying, laying about and wasting valuable time. We have a job to do and lost to seek and save.

By being serious we give stability. I still laugh, even though I am serious. My mum is a riot. We find a lot of crazy stuff to enjoy but always keeping our eye on the main thing. Tonight I took my dog Oscar for his first outing in a dog park. He ran around full speed, like lightening. Jumping and darting from tree to tree. We laughed!

Gideon was told be God to take the warriors who drank from the stream whilst still alert. This must be us. Don't be fooled by worldly opinions, ideas and ways. Stay alert!
