Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.

If we have a hard and begrudging eye, we will sow sparingly. If we are self-centered we will worry about our needs first and perhaps neglect the area of giving.
Most churches are governed by the 80% rule. 20% of the people give 80% whilst 80% give 20%. Whilst it is not good to give all your money away, just as it is foolish to waste all your money on senseless buying.
Believing that because you give faithfully that God should bless you more than those who don't is also not a good focus. If you love the Lord with all your heart then your cash is His. We must live out of this space, a good relationship with Him. What is He doing? What is His focus?
