Things Above

So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.

In New life I have been given an inheritance. On this earth many are told they will receive an inheritance from a loved one. When they are told this news they know what to expect and live with that expectation in mind. This is especially true of children of elderly parents. These children are often in their 50s or 60s and are themselves planning their retirement. The facy that they will receive an inheritance in the forseeable future gives ease to the need to accumulate themselves.

Just the same we have been given an inheritance and the seal of this inheritance is the Holy Spirit, He is the down payment, if you like. The more we know Him the more we know what to expect in eternity.

To understand our inheritance we need to get to know the One who gave it to us. The more we get to know Him the more we are drawn to His kingdom. We get to know Him through studying His Son and reading His word. Amen!
