He Left

And while He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.
Luke 24:51 HCSB

Reading this last chapter of Luke you feel as though Jesus was running a marathon. In this Chapter Luke covers the disciples finding the tomb empty, Jesus appearing to disciples on road to Emaus, Jesus appearing to disciples in Jerusalem and the He's gone. It actually went a lot slower and was more relational.

Jesus had done all He could to prepare the disciples for His death and resurrection and eventual ascension into heaven. After He rose from the dead He appeared to the disciples many times. He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit who would empower them.

The above scripture is a finale, of sorts. The following passage says: they worshipped Him then went back to Jerusalem rejoicing daily in the Temple.

The apostles finally 'Got it!' Jesus was God and the plan was to save mankind from their sins all along and not defeat the Romans.

Jesus comes into our lives to redeem us. He may not overturn that which bothers us but rather He comes into our lives and removes the bother in us. We must let Him be God. Amen!

Rejoice!
