Streams of Living Water

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink! The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.” He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been received because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

We who have accepted Christ into our lives have this promised Holy Spirit. He is alive in us. How do we let Him flow out from us like a stream? First be aware we have this stream wanting to flow, second fellowship with the Holy Spirit and release Him to flow.

Jesus told us in John 15 that if we abide in Him He will abide in us. We are connected to the flow by abiding. Now to release the flow we need to pray an awareness of the stream and people around us. Who needs God's love, encouragement, a listening ear, friendship, grace, mercy and forgiveness? Probably everyone you meet. Let the stream flow!

Ask God to open your eyes to the others around you, listen to them, value them, heal them through your love and compassion. Amen!
