Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 HCSB
This scripture comes in a chapter dealing with fights between christians and sexual immorality. Paul is having to bring correction. He warns that;
Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality, no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 HCSB
We cannot be deceived into believing we are righteous and practice life like unbelievers. I could not imagine not inheriting the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The kingdom of God is what we are here for. In the Lord's prayer we pray: may Your kingdom come.
We are here to usher in the kingdom of God, we are not here to please ourselves. Living for self is not christianity. Living for God and His kingdom is.
Get priorities right. Amen!
