Social Giving

Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they’ll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, his gift. No language can praise it enough!
2 Corinthians 9:12‭-‬15 MSG

Giving to the poor is indeed social relief. However, we are inundated with requests to complete petition support and suddenly a charity or a cause has your mobile number and guess what happens next...they call. Myself I am coming to terms with changing my habit of supporting every good cause. Instead I am going to find my patch in God and go for it.

I love being on a bus and being inspired to give and see firsthand the joy I have given. I dont like being hounded to give as some have become professional beggars. I rather give where no hand is outstretched but where Gods heart is outstretched. In everything we must weigh the cost, every action costs.

For Jesus said: give and it shall be given to you, pressed down and run nongovernment over; the measure you give will be the measure you receive.
