Our Advocate

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26 NLT

The word advocate means an intercessor; one who pleads the case of another. We have such an advocate: the Holy Spirit. He takes all we know about God and His promises and reminds us when we especially need them.

When we are in distress we are hampered by fear and our hearing becomes dull. At these times we have the 'still small voice ' speaking to us on Gods behalf. We can trust Him, He is an advocate sent by Jesus to assist us.

I know for those of us who face court we hope for such an advocate. Israel Folau, our Australian Christian footballer, who was sacked for preaching the gospel, is trusting God to be his advocate.

The Holy Spirit is God's presence on the earth. We can trust Him. Amen!
