He

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. Psalm 91:5,6 I should add: 'nor the son-in-law who you threw hot soapy water all over today, in play and soon realize he likes to control the play- not happy'. I couldn't believe I did it, but hey the kids and I were playing with him and he was defiant in his determinance to stay on the 'bad side', as he said. To make matters worse the NRL team I barrack for won, beating his team. Nonetheless, I had a good time with the grandies. I sympathies with the Lord when we want to control. What do you do with kids that like to control everything? From reading the old testament I can deduce He did more than throw water at them. However, I see a New Testament God that never lets go and always reaches out. He never gives up and neither can I. Jesus made a difference, He paid the price and for that I am...

Abiding

He who abides in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the almighty. Psalm 91:1 Key word: 'abides'. What does abide mean? Wait, yield, tolerate, to accept without objection. Personally I think a better word would be 'grafted' or 'embrace'. Abide can give a sense of 'putting up with'. Whereas choosing to be grafted or to embrace a place required heart commitment. As I give my heart, soul and mind to dwelling in God's presence I am choosing to be a complete part of who He is and His values are my values. As I become a part of His household, I live out of that place. Therefore I also live in His shadow. In earthly term this is not so good. We think that living in someone's shadow is causing us to be less a person. And yes it is, in human relations. However, if I am living in the Lord's shadow I am protected by Him and the key difference between the Lord and others is: He empowers me to be all I can be, whereas o...

Numbering Our Days

So teach us to number our days that we might get a heart of wisdom. Ps 90:12 Numbering our days! How does that make us wise? Perhaps by taking the time to think through every stage, with insight, gives wisdom. I know it is wisdom to not react but think things through instead. I made it to Brisbane with a stop for coffee at a lovely old building called Stannum House which was built during a time when Tenterfield was short listed for the nomination of Australian Capital Territory. Apparently there was a prominent Tin mine there in days past. History tells us that things did not turn out as expected, but then that happens a lot. I am staying with a delightful lady who answered my add requesting accommodation near my family, thought having another place to go a good idea plus meeting the locals. The grandchildren are not too fussed but I have a big bed instead of a fold out couch. I thought this through and decided we all needed space and I like it and I meet people who nee...

He is Worthy of Obedience

Lord, You have been our refuge in every generation. Before the mountains were born You have birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, You are God. Psalm 90:1,2 This Psalm is attributed to Moses. If that is the case it is so ancient. Yet Moses writes about a more ancient one, the Lord who was before all things. This One, this God is my Father, my friend, my Lord. I am constantly challenged as to whether He is my Lord, as I am sure you are. Do I trust Him to provide? It all boils down to that! Last night I had another message from another girlfriend saying she was dating a non-Christian, aaahhhh! Each time I lack, I am challenged to wait for God or accept the counterfeit. The counterfeit may look good and make me feel good, but did God send it? No! We are told where they come from. You could say, 'Di don't be harsh!'. I would say, 'if I can trust and wait so can you.' This life is not about what we consider happiness but about ob...

Great in the Heavens

Lord, the heavens praise Your wonders- Your faithfulness also- in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies can compare with the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord? God is greatly feared in the council of the holy ones, more awe-inspiring than all who surround Him. Psalm 89:5-7 You know I love these passages but what I really love is the one about whom it is written. I feel like the treasured daughter who can prance in, in the middle of my Father's meeting and He will stop and pick me up and give me time. I am that daughter and He is that father. Mind you I am small but not a child any more. Yet His attention is for me, His eye is for me, I am His delight. This afternoon my granddaughter started sending me text messages, she is 8. I love it when she writes: 'nanny I can't wait until you come'. You know what? Neither can I! How does this make me feel? Very special! How does she feel? Very special! So when I love my heavenly Father, ...

Sing About His Faithfulness

I will sing about the Lord's faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth. For I will declare, 'faithful love is built up forever; You establish Your faithfulness in the heavens'. Psalm 89:1-3 I am about to travel to Brisbane, in fact tomorrow, to see family, especially grandchildren. We are going to make a kite. Yes I could buy one, probably a lot better but the fun is in the making. Always there are lessons to teach as children are little fleshpots, it is usually all about them. Working as a team is foreign and my role is to make it fun. These little ones need to know the Lord and his ways. I know Him so my role will be to teach what I know. Take time to share what you know. If you have had the hand of God on your life, take time to share it. Life is not about us it is about others. Remember to listen! Yesterday before work after I had dropped off my dogs to be groomed I visited my aunt. I have told her about my pro...

My Prayers Meet the Lord

But I call to You for help, Lord; in the morning my prayer meets You. Psalm 88:13 I love that: ' my prayer meets You'. My prayers do meet the Lord and just because nothing appears to be happening I cannot assume that the Lord is elsewhere and not interested. Lord, You are good and Your mercy endures forever. The Lord's goodness; faithfulness; mercy cannot be judges on my own centre of reference. I must judge according to His word. The Lord answers but often in ways vastly different to expected. The thing I have to remember is to allow him to be Himself. Amen!

Speak Life

Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out before You day and night. May my prayers reach Your presence, listen to my cry. Psalm 88:1,2 Psa 88 is called 'A Cry if Desperation'. It is full of pain and anguish which we all experience. However, once the pain has been expressed and laid out before the Lord we cannot stay there. What does God do with failure, death, dust? He speaks to it! Speak to the nothing and call forth life. Tell the nothingness it is abundance, tell the sickness there is wholeness. There is power is Christ and He is in me. I will say I am blessed, I will say I am whole, I will say 'no weapon formed against me shall prosper'! Amen!!! Rise up and be who you are! Speak life! Amen!

Source of Joy!

Singers and dancers alike will say, "my whole source of joy is in You." psalm 87:7 I think I would like to join in even though I don't carry the label of singer or dancer. All who know Him will have moments of delightful joy bubbling over and want to sing and dance, unreservedly. I like to pretend I can tap dance ( only one foot works- but in my head I am great). Last night I was bubbling over, today was different but the beautiful thing is: He never changes. Yes! Let your joy out! Be a blessing! Tonight I went to a women's do, what I loved was that a business college of mine was there and I know she does not quite know the Lord, her daughter has found Him and has been so transformed she (mum) is gobsmacked. Tomorrow I am meeting my colleague for coffee, she turns 60 on Saturday so we will celebrate, I also want to release the Lord to do His stuff. He does it better than anyone else, because it is him.

He Establishes

The Most High Himself will establish her. Psalm 87:5 He is the master potter. I remember when the Lord spoke to me in 2005 and said: 'go back into financial planning' and then when I was doing business with a mortgage broker he told me, 'ask him for a job'. I did, after a week of reluctance. I did not see myself the way He sees me. Back then I did not understand what mortgage broking and financial planning had to do with each other, He did. I wanted to be a nurse, my default career choice, but He knew what He wanted to do in me. I went on to run seminars for retirees in the reverse mortgage market for two years then full time studies in financial planning to now owning my own financial planning business. Saying it quickly sound glorious yet much hardship, pain and fear was involved in the quarry as the Lord carved out the woman He wanted and saw. I could not see what He saw, then, I do now. He is establishing me. I am about to embark on a community proj...

Kind and Ready to Forgive

For You Lord are kind and ready to forgive, rich and faithful love to all who call on You. Lord hear my prayer; listen to my plea for mercy. I call on You in the day of my distress, for God will answer me. Psalm 86:5-7 David knew the Lord was ready to forgive. His understanding of the Lord was not common. Today people who do not know God do not understand His desire to forgive. His desire is so great that He sent His Son to bring us back by paying the price. How did David know this? He spent time courting the Lord, walking with the Lord, relying on the Lord, running to the Lord, loving the Lord. How do you and I know the faithfulness of the Lord? We constantly choose Him as our defense, our comfort, our provider, our lover, our friend, our counsellor, our guide, our savior. David's language: 'plea for mercy' can be foreign to someone who has not had a revelation of their deepest need. The real truth is: without Him I am undone, I am a fleshpot without redemption...

Passion

Teach me Your Way, Yahweh, and I will live by Your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear Your name. I will praise You with all my heat, Lord my God, and will honor Your name forever. For Your faithful love for me is great, and You deliver my life from the depths of Sheol. Psalm 86:11-13 Ah! David is back. He has sometime called passion. 'Teach me Your way, Yahweh, and I will live by Your truth'. David is determined to know God's way and truth and to live out of that truth. How about you? Is your passion for the Lord or something else? 'I will praise You with all my heart!' all is ALL, it is not lip service. What does it look like? Is there an ache in you for more? He knows when it is all. I can tell when my employee is not passionate about what he does, when he is just marking time. If I can discern this how much more can my God see right through me? Are you content to 'mark time?' are you content to just turn up, like a wall flower? Or is it wo...

Righteousness Prepares the Way

Righteousness will go before Him to prepare the way for His steps. Psalm 85:13 If righteousness is needed to prepare the way for the Lord's steps how much more do I need it. What is righteousness? Right living. Right living according to truth, integrity, purity. Not that shadowy stuff that constantly moves. So then, right living makes the path clear. Simple! There are times when I struggle with knowing what to do. At these times I wait and seek direction from the Lord. Sometimes I have to start walking and the way becomes clear (just like it is when you come out of a fog). Scripture tells me that I have the mind of Christ. Obviously I must be walking right in the first place to have this.

I Will Listen

I will listen to what God will say; surely the Lord will declare peace to His people, His Godly ones, and not let them go back to foolish ways. Psalm 85:8 Today I am seeking His voice, listening for Him deals with human foolishness. As I face new challenges, new directions I seek His face. What is He saying? My mind can imagine all sorts of things but His word is final. His word grounds me, steadies my hand, my emotions, my mind. He is my tonic. He constantly whispers into my spirit: 'look at me'. All things come together in Him. Amen! My Lord does declare peace. 'my peace be with you'. I hear Him say. As you read the Gospels you hear Him: 'peace'. Today your choice is the same as mine. Will you listen and then will you submit all that you are to Him?

He is In!

Better is a day in your courts than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather be at the door of the house of my God than to live in the tents of wicked people. Psalm 8:10 When I sometimes ponder where in the world I would like to go, although I could go I will not go unless He is there. Travel for the sake of travel no longer appeals but travel with him is exciting just as a quiet day at home, with Him, is the best. Therefore, I wait, on Him. Where He leads I will go. There are things I would like to do but unless He is there, I do not want to do it. He is the magic, His presence the Yes factor. The psalmist is supposing that God is in His house. We now know He can been found in many places yet, like the psalmist, give me the Lord's presence every time.

My Strength is in You!

Happy are the people whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a source of spring water; even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings. They go from strength to strength; each appear before God in Zion. Psalm 84:5-7 Those who choose the Lord as strength are never disappointed. Without the Lord; food, alcohol; casual sex; gambling; workaholism; all line up as options. When the Lord is my strength I become stronger with each passing day. My resolve become solid, distractions barely touch me. With Him as my strength the times of weeping become times of blessing to myself and others around me. Going to church is not making Him my strength, neither is praying or reading my bible. It is the resolve to allow His way to determine my way, his thoughts to be my thoughts. He becomes God as I submit to His ways, until I submit I am a loose cannon, very dangerous. His gospel must be the blueprint from which I live...

The Groom

May they know that You alone- whose name in Yahweh- are the most high over all the earth. Psalm 83:18 This is my prayer that ALL would recognize the greatness of God. He is worthy to be praised! He is all powerful, all mighty, all God. A bride dressed all in white awaiting her groom stands out. I passed two wedding cars today. When you see the cars, the bride you know that the groom is in place waiting. The groom is waiting! The bride is caught in a bad dream. The dress is not ready, the maids went to the wrong address, the flowers went to the funeral parlor, the cars that were sent we're beat up old Holdens. In my bad dreams the phone does not work. Yet the groom is waiting! Still waiting! He has cobwebs all over Him yet he still waits. Help! Somebody help the bride!

God oh God oh God oh God!

God, do not be silent. Do not be deaf, God; do not be idle. Psalm 83:1 Hands up all who wished God talked to them more! Ah! I see those hands! When do you find Him quiet? When things are tough? A consensus! Why? So that you can develop trust, so that instead of panic you sense presence! You may not be interested but that is how a relationship with Him works. The fire can be so close the heat singes your garments, the wind so strong you struggle to stand but He is there. As I walk close to destruction I cling to Him and trust Him to keep walking and not let go. There are times when I am bathed in His presence, fully immersed. Yesterday was one such day. I didn't know why but was grateful. He makes a way! He opens doors! He has a master plan. It is good! Amen!

Lead the Way

They do not know or understand; they wander in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. Psalm 82:5 This scripture is referring to leaders. When those who lead, who should know better, do not know better, then we are all in trouble. In Australia at present there is a voting in parliament regarding 'same sex marriages'. The church has a watch dog who notify us of pending voting and who to write to, for those who cannot conceive a written letter, they also provide templates. I responded and wrote to my local ministers encouraging them to vote for traditional marriage. The minister in my area wrote me an email saying that he had considered all communication about the matter and he was going to vote for marriage between a man and a woman. This blessed me. However, what if I and those like me had not written, would he have bowed to pressure to vote for 'gay marriages'? I suspect so. Has this leader lost his way? Is it more important for him to please th...

Care For the Needy

God takes His place in the divine assembly; He judges among the Gods; 'How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Provide justice to the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked.' psalm 82:1-4 Having a good commentary helps me understand the context of this scripture. The world blames God for the disasters, their misery and failure. Yet here we see God actually judging those who have been given authority to care for the needy and destitute. Last night I went to see a play called The Flood. It had three prominent actresses in it. The story was woven around a family destroyed by a fathers sexual abuse of his eldest daughter. It graphically portrayed the emotional desolation and state of lostness caused by the father's abuse and the mother's failure to acknowledge his sin. The language was awful but I know that such a family would think...

Perfect Plans

There must not be a strange god among you; you must not now down to a foreign god. But My people did not listen to me; Israel did not obey Me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own plans. Psalm 81:9,11,12 It seems that God has a way, a way in which He heals us, blesses us, answers us, protects us. However, what gets in the way is a stubborn heart that wants to do things it's own way. Wanting my own way damages me, wanting what I want hinders me. If I believe I am fulfilled if I have such and such, then I restrict God's hand. If I believe the answers should come the way that I think they should come then I deceive myself. Don't limit God! He has a perfect plan, flow with that! Let Him be God! Amen!

Testing Times

I heard an unfamiliar language: 'I relieved his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from carrying the basket. You called out in distress, and I rescued you; I answered you from the thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.' psalm 81:6,7 Mighty God had taken His people from Egyptian slavery, yet when they got some distance in the desert they complained bitterly about needing water, they did not simply ask. We, His people, are delivered from various types of Egypt and now is endeavoring to build a relationship with us. When difficult times come, which they inevitably do, what is our response? Do we complain against the Lord, walk away, endeavor to save ourselves? Or do we humble ourselves and press in to Him, seeking His face and trusting Him? God provided water at Meribah, God will provide water in your desert. Do you trust Him? More importantly do you trust Him, without complaining?

Protection

Restore us, 'Yahweh, the God of hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved'. Psalm 80:19 I need to be restored, do you? Although I spend time with my Lord daily, I still need a spiritual shower. Junk collects; disappointment, hurt, temptation. The shower of His grace cleanses me, restores me. In restoration I am saved from the ways of darkness. In Him I am safe, saved. I need not fear! Tonight I went to watch a rehearsal of a puppet play that the local dramatic society is soon to stage. It is an 'adult muppet show'. I found it sad that something innocent has been corrupted, with sex scenes and bad language. I had been asked to be a sponsor in the society's magazine. I want the pure memory of a good muppet show to remain for my grandchildren. I know I cannot support this show because it is not me. Yes I care for the actors but I do not care for their actions. There was a man there that was beginning to pay me too much attention. I don't wa...

He is Strong

Let your hand be strong with therm at your right hand, with the Son of man You have made strong for Yourself. Psalm 80:17 Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, He is seated there after accomplishing His work on earth. He has passed the baton on to us. In Matthew 28 he said all authority had been given to Him and had won the authority by His death and resurrection. In Matthew He then commanded us to go and spread the good news and that He would be with us, always. In the Old Testament the constant worry was that God was not with the people or was chastising them. Jesus said He would be with us 'always until the end of the age'. In Romans 8 I read: 'if God be for me then who can be against me'. If He is beside me then I need to walk aware. Amen!

God My God!

God of our salvation, help us- for the glory of Your name. Deliver us and atone for our sins, because of Your name. Why shod the nations ask, 'where is there God?' Psalm 79: 9,10 Oh that righteousness would prosper! Those who refuse to compromise are made to feel as fools (where is your God?) demands society. Reveal yourself, reveal Your strength, reveal Your glory! Come Lord Jesus! Do not allow yourself to be mocked! Lift up Your head, hear our call and come. Wear your glory! Shine like the sun! Cause those who mock to be dismayed! I know You are God! Stand beside me, uncloak yourself and shine! Amen!

Unrighteousness

God, the nations have invaded Tour inheritance, desecrated Your holy temple, and turned Jerusalem into ruins. Psalm 79:1 Today I have a very good friend suffering because her ex-husband refuses to be reconciled and has chosen to compound his sin with a new woman. When men and women are deceived into thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence they are consumed with visions of newness, lust and lies. Their sin is against: themselves, their spouse, their children and their children's children. What we do speaks into the heavens. If we trample on the marriage vows then we are proclaiming that God's institution is a crock. We actually tell Him He is a failure and powerless to save. The pain of the victim is huge. The arrogance of the abuser is huge. What can be done? In the pain of abuse the victim thinks they are useless, powerless and want to retreat yet righteousness must stand and even if alone, Believe God! 'may Your Kingdom come, Your will b...

Desperate People

I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and He will hear me. In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearing; my soul refuses to be comforted. When I remember God I moan; when I meditate, my spirit faints. Psalm 77:1-3 Today I spoke to two people who are seriously I'll. One has secondaries from bowel cancer and one has an invasive benign brain tumor. Seriously ill people are desperate people. My God is available, what will they do? What will I do? I want to give them life. Lord use me for Your glory! Amen!

Pass it On!

I will speak mysteries from the past- things we have heard and known and that our fathers have passed down to us. We must not hide them from our children, but tell a future generation the praises of the Lord, his might, and the wonderful works He has performed. Psalm 78:2-4 I cannot just keep all I know about God's goodness to myself I must teach my grandchildren about the Lord. When my children were little I did the same. If I fail to pass on the message and allow it to be lost, my God will want an account of what I have been given. What did you do? What did you say? An older mind and heart should have a deeper understanding of the things of God. Is this the case for you? I know I know and understand things much clearer than I did before, say when I myself was young. This I can impart. On 28th of this month I go to visit my grandchildren. It is time to prepare myself to impart, to give an account. I sing a song about patience to the children, I need to find a new so...

Troubled Soul

You have kept me from closing my eyes; I am troubled and cannot speak. I consider the days of old, years long past. At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders. Psalm 77:4-6 This sounds like one anxious guy. I can relate, but also know where I must go when in such a state, to the Lord. At times it seems as though the Lord has left me for dead, but it is only a feeling, He is still there. He always has a plan for good, for hope and a future. My feelings need to me tuned into the spirit, as that is where the action is amen!

Intense Prayer

I cry aloud to God, and He will hear me. I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted. I think of God, I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Psalm 77:1-3 When Jesus taught His disciples about prayer He told them a story about a wan who had been wronged by her family. She went to the unrighteousness judge and pestered him until he said: 'I fear neither God or man but because you are driving me nuts I will help you.' Jesus said we must be persistent in prayer like this. Our God waits for us to be desperate and seek Him with all that we are. At times I feel as though my insides are torn out as I weep and pray before Him. Why does He do this? He wants us to know desperate need because we are inclined to be lazy in our relationships. In moments of intense need, intense pray is best. You have to get intense about Him instead of shoes, clothes, cars, stuff. He is worth getting intense over, try ...

Vows

Make and keep your vows to the Lord your God; let all who are around Him bring tribute to the awe-inspiring One. Psalm 76:11 Do you speak rashly before the Lord? Jesus taught that: our 'yes' should be 'yes' and our 'no' should be 'no'. No shades of grey. Tonight I had friend call, she had a non-Christian man chasing her. My friend is a divorcee. She said to me: ' I needed to hear you say the truth that I know.' so I said it! I told her of another friend who had compromised because she did not trust the Lord to provide. It all boils down to the question: 'do you trust Him to come through?' in any area of your life, He is the answer. Trust Him! Today I visited all those I had intended to visit and spoke to my cousin about trusting the Lord to provide her with a new home, she does. I must trust Him, because He is good and He delights in blessing me. How about you?

Warrior God

You are resplendent and majestic coming down from the mountain of prey. The brave hearted have been plundered; they have slipped into their final sleep. None of the warriors was able to lift a hand. At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse lay still. Psalm 76:4,5 What beautiful words! They stir up images of a mighty warrior God. Our society loves movies about warriors and heroes, I wonder why? Is it because we have the best to gaze upon? I want to see this God! I long for this God! I had a good night's sleep and although I feel as though I have been hit by a train, after a coffee I feel much better. Yet what gives greater life to these limbs that hang down is the word of God. Hebrews tells me to strengthen the limbs that hang down and this is what I know I must do. In the night I had dreams. The Lord has a community project He wants me to undertake. Twice I woke from sleep and twice I had fresh vision, the pieces are coming together. The is nothing bette...

I Will Praise Him!

As for me, I will tell about Him forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob. Psalm 75:9 Instead of 'the God of Jacob' I would like to insert: 'God of Di'. I relate to that better. Travelled home today and tired and weary and a little teary but a sleep will sort me out. No more 2 thousand kms for work, Lord willing! Need to put my attitude to bed as it wants to go off and that's not a good idea, when a sleep will sort it. I will find fresh perspective in the morning and fresh hope. Amen!

Lifter of My Head

For not from the east or west or not from the wilderness comes lifting up, but it is God who executes judgement, putting down one and lifting up another. Psalm 75:6,7 He is the glory and the lifter of my head. Psalm 3:3 It is He who establishes me, gives me room to grow, soil into which I can put down roots. He is the only one who's lifting up is of any value. He is the only one who can establish with certainty. What He establishes and maintains, cannot be moved. I do not look to man for lifting up because their standards and accolades are empty, I want my God's praise. He does not have carnal motives, he does not consider His creation as pawns on a playing field, with Him I am safe. Image is not important to him, He looks inside. Amen! Praise Your name Lord! You are to be trusted, sought, desired, honored. You alone are good! Amen!

Your Cause

Arise oh God and defend your cause; remember how the foolish scoff at You all the day! Psalm 74:22 I long to see God's glory, might and power. I want to see him revealed in the earth because the hearts of men and women cannot resist His love. I know the psalmist wants God to wipe out the baddies but I know when God reveals Himself even baddies come to Him. You see He is awesome in His power, mighty, mighty in His strength but soooo good and His love draws even the sinner to repentance. I long to see Him! He is the best! Amen!

His Dove

Do not deliver the soul of Your dove to the wild beasts; do not forget the life of Your poor forever.psalm 74:19 I love the poetry in this verse. I am His dove. This dove seeks His protection and provision. Matthew 6:25-33 tells me not to be anxious because my heavenly Father sees what I need and will provide. What I must do is seek His kingdom and His ways and all these things will be added. As I seek Him and am diligent before Him He provides and cares for me. Thank You Lord for Your protection, Your provision, Your companionship, Your life. Amen!

He is Here!

Nevertheless, I am continually with You; You hold my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterwards You will receive me to glory. Psalm 73:23,25 Not matter what I go through or how I feel my God is still right here. His love never dims. Of late I am experiencing intense times of need for Him, excruciating times of intercession when I am so desperate to find Him. I need Him more than the air I breathe. I am so desperate to see Him in the lives of those I love as well as my own life. I cannot win a trick by my own hand and only intense prayer produces results, this is weird, not had this before. Every prayer time produces results, is to enable those who are struggling.(myself included). Mind you today it produced results for me. I am finally able to work the New England area instead of driving all the way down to Albury, I finally have mine, very close. However the prayer comes in waves. Things cannot stay the same, change and repentance must come, now is the time...

Go to God!

But when I thought how to understand this I went into the sanctuary of God, Then I discerned their end. Psalm 73:16,17 What do you do when you don't understand? Where do you go? Do you bitterly complain and withdraw from God? Do you run to worldly books for wisdom, attend seminars, go to a particular person? When stuff happens that seems so unfair I have to go to God otherwise by going elsewhere my attitude suffers. If I go to self-pity a case grows in self-righteousness. If I go to God I am humbled knowing only He can fix it. Humility is better for my soul. If I go to God, I can find peace and rest for my soul. The Lord has answers that keep my heart clean, only He can do that, only He is good. Amen!

Needy People

For he delivers the poor and needy when they call, the poor and him who has no helper. Psalm 72:12 Who is he? The Lord? No, the king. The Christian is instructed to do good to those in need, especially those of the household of faith. How do we know people are needy? They don't have a sign around their necks? Do they? Perhaps it is in conversation. If we converse with our friends then do we go deep enough? What would you do if, when you ask, ' how are you?' they told you. What if they said, 'I've lost my job' or 'my husband left last night', or 'my son came home drunk and hit me'. Firstly embarrassment would probably prevent them and secondly your response would make them suck back their words, or would it? What would you do with the discomfort of knowing here was a serious problem? Would you quickly say a prayer, as a panacea? Or would you make time to talk further and prayerfully seek a way to assist? I would hazard to guess it w...

Glory to Him

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory! Psalm 72:18,19 Blessed be the Lord God of: Australia, Tamworth, Dianne Case. Put yourself in the picture! Make Him 'the Lord God of ..... .... Who does wondrous things. Give honor to Him, He keeps you. He gives your lungs air, gives you a place to call home, gives you food to put in your belly. It is He who gives you guidance, who comforts you, who leads you into all truth. It is you that causes Him to be glorified as you make Him known, makes His deeds known. He is seated in heaven waiting until His enemies are made a footstool for Him, you do that as you rob Satan of authority in your life. Release God to be G O D. Watch Him go! Amen!

Hope Continually

But I will hope continually and praise you yet more and more.psalm 71:14 My God has to be my source and supply. Today I travelled to Wagga Wagga for an appointment and then on to Wodonga. My appointment for tomorrow has been moved to Wednesday. I am having delays of all sorts and stubborn medical records departments dragging their feet at sending on medical information. (4 months worth) I became quite cross today and was ready to go to the hospital and make a complaint but could not find a park. When I arrived in Wodonga I was still cross and had my hand on the doorknob going to my car to get something when the Lord whispered, 'look at Me, my timing is always right'. Well it is I must agree! However, learning the tension about when to act and when to hold back for me is the greatest challenge. As a woman I have always held back but know now I have a business and I am wanting to be consistently diligent and not being afraid to confront. Ever have these sort of day...

Genuine Love

Do not cast me off in times of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent. Psalm 71:9 I have several aunties and a mother in their 80s. One of my aunts said to me, 'Dianne come and visit me anytime, I am usually home.' This aunt has five children of her own and each of them have children and their children have children. Can you see how from one woman there are so many yet my aunts is 'usually at home.' Being cast off is something that elderly people struggle with. They are considered too old to do many activities that consumes much of the time of the younger generations. Yet inside all elderly is still the need to be loved and wanted. In this Psalm David is either old or getting there (like me I suppose). I know how busy my children are with their children and I know how I must go to them if I want to see them. Many elderly cannot go and must wait for others to come to them. I know if I had to wait I might wait a long time. I am so grateful to my...

Hunger For God

You are my help and my deliverer; Oh Lord do not delay. Psalm 70:5b Today I heard a good message from a 70 yo American preacher. My insides were say, 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' He spoke about the reasons for staying close to God.? He talked about standing still. I would hazard to guess that very few could embrace his message because of their belief structures. Deep down inside we have a core belief structure, the blueprint that causes us to evaluate and behave. If, deep down we are happy with us and where we have God placed, things will not change. We can settle for a whole lot less of God, all because we think, heroically, we are doing all we can. To change we need impetus, a solid reason. Guilt lasts a short while, whereas revelation lasts a lifetime. Revelation comes when we are hungry for more. If we are not hungry then we do not seek and if we do not seek, we do not find and we remain blind. You see, if you think, 'I am serving in church, I am involved in caring...

Praise Him

May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You. May those who love Your salvation say evermore, 'God is great!' psalm 70:4 Do you think that those who praise the Lord are having a good tine if it? If this is the only time you praise the Lord think again. The psalmist goes on to say, 'but I am poor and needy; hasten to me, oh God!' verse 5 Praise releases heaven, praise for what He is about to do, praise breaks down the walls of opposition. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! And watch the tide turn, watch the enemy flee! Amen!

Zeal for Him

For zeal for your house has consumed me, And the reproach of those who have reproached you have fallen on me.Psalm 69:9 Do you ever get abused because you dare to confess that God is able? Are you ever scorned because you would rather follow God's ways instead of mans? I have been. It can be so belittling yet my grief is for those who rail against the truth, the lost. So far away from knowing Him, His love, His freedom. Stand up and don't back down, He is good and His ways are perfect. Don't be a people pleaser, rather please the one who made you. Allow the zeal for Him, His word and His house consume you, shine your light and don't hide. Don't compromise to please!

One Way

Save me, oh God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters and flood sweep over me. I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God. Psalm 69:1-3 Does this sound familiar? Are you feeling lost and sinking fast? Have you caused your 'lost' state? Or have you lost your way? Has calamity come upon you suddenly? Whatever the reason you can now walk with your God. Your enemy constantly is looking to destroy you and has found a chink in your armor, a door left open. You may know what that door was, all the better, repent, forgive that person, stop that sin. However, if you do not know seek God. We can live our lives so caught up in blind pursuits of what we consider right and not see the danger that is coming fast. Our worlds are in constant danger and just because we 'feel' good does not mean we are safe. It is our dependence on the Lord, s...

Divine Protection

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Our God is a God of salvation, And to God, the Lord, Belongs deliverances from death. Psalm 68:19,20 Today I travelled to Sydney from Tamworth, via Gosford (to see my sister who is still rehabilitating from being hit by a car. Every time I see her she has improved.) I am on my way to Albury on Monday to see clients. The traffic was bad from Singleton and very bad at Wyong. I felt real danger on the road today. I prayed for protection and received it. I had a great visit with my sister. I have spent more time with her since her accident than I have for a very long time. We are becoming close and I love it. I am so grateful for the Lord's protection of my sister. So many die when hit by cars, yet she survived. She still not able to walk (doctor's orders) yet she will be fine. My God has chosen to protect my 80 year old mum as she drives on the busy Sydney roads. She told me tonight she feels safe. How ...

My Salvation

May the Lord be praised! Day after day He bears our burdens; God is our salvation. Our God is a God of salvation, And escape from death belongs to the Lord God. Psalm 68:19,20 Whether we like it or not God is in charge. As we give up the struggle to control we find that He is more than able to hold all things together. I have been, over the years, one who has tried to control and hold things together. I thought that was what I was supposed to do. Yet discovering surrender was not arduous, rather freeing. I had to know that God could be trusted, as yes folks, He does not have a bad attitude towards me, He does not get angry and reject me, He is totally consistent in His love for me. He shepherds me, leads me to a good place, a good attitude, a good view of Him. Bad stuff is always happening in the world, He helps me walk through it. He is my shield, my protector. In a barren land He provides me with food. He sustains me! In lonely places He comforts me. He is my consta...

Why Should I Praise Him?

Let all the peoples praise You, God; Let all the people's praise You. Let the nations rejoice and shout for joy, for You judge the people's with fairness and lead the nations on earth. Psalm 67:3,4 God is good and the more who come to know Him are set free by His goodness. He does not sit plotting revenge. He plots redemption, constantly working in the sons of disobedience to bring life and freedom. As I walk my dogs I see hundreds of people speeding by with their own agendas. I pray for a revelation of God. Knowing God is not a bondage, rather a freedom. Salvation breaks chains, sets captives free. Bondage to alcohol, drugs, food, pleasure, all are prisons that captivate people. Jesus came to open prison doors. He is good! Amen!

Favour

May God be gracious to us and bless us; Look on us with favour so that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Psalm 67:1,2 What denotes favour? Is it health, finance, good relationships? Or is it Him walking with me constantly? Perhaps all of the above? Yet in the last 9 years I have been through some of the most difficult and challenging times, yet in it all, my God has been so real. He has revealed His faithfulness, His presence has been wonderful, His counsel wise, His love never failing. I would have to join Paul in saying: For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, Things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Romans 8:38,39) Nothing can separate us! Amen!

A Good Testimony

Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for me. I cried to Him with my mouth, And praise was on my tongue.psalm 66:16,17 A good testimony is worth more than gold, it causes others to believe. Praise is due to our God, He is good. He is worthy of praise! He delights in our praise! He is my restorer, my provider, my guide, my answer, my song. In all that happens He is there as my shield. Amen!

Processes

For You God tested us; You refined us as silver is refined. You lured us into a trap; You placed burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; We went through fire and water, But You brought us out to abundance. Psalm 66:10-12 This psalm is about the children of Israel coming out of Egypt, it is old but relevant. At times our circumstances trample us but as we hold faith our God brings us through. He has the last word. Amen!

Simple Faith

You crown the year with Your goodness; Your ways overflow with plenty. Psalm 65:11 What if what you see and hear about on TV is a world where God is not involved, a world that has replaced him with their own deity? But, what if the true God did exist and when invited changed what you saw and heard? A little child believes in miracles, magic, mystery. He is found there! We were all once little children and once believed. What if we could again believe? What would that be like? Remember your beginning! I remember a child of 4 waking in the night and seeing a white being near my bed, it did not frighten me. From then I wanted to know Him. I am currently reading a book that is causing me to remember. It is good to remember a simple faith. My God wants to be involved in my life. Amen!

You Are Good

You answer us in righteousness, with awe- inspiring works, God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the distant seas. You establish the mountains by Your power, robed with strength. You silence the roar of the sea, the roar of their waves, and the tumult of the nations. Those who live far away are awed by Your signs; You make east and west shout for joy. Psalm 65:5-8 Our God is good! Let Him arise! Listen oh my soul, listen to His deeds and give Him glory, don't rob Him with your words. Am I stealing His glory, am I giving glory to another, am I taking away His power by my confession? Am I giving glory to illness or poverty? Holy Spirit open my eyes and ears be my check as I carelessly speak against my God. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, oh Lord!(psalm 19:14) Praise You Lord for You are good! Amen!

Warrior King

But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly, they will be wounded. They will be made to stumble; their own tongues work against them. All who see them will shake their heads. Then everyone will fear and will tell about God's work, for they will understand what He has done. Psalm 64:7-9 We have an enemy who constantly accuses us, belittles us and spews forth fear over us. What if he is a liar and what he says is wrong? What happens when I trust God? He fights for me. The accusers tongues work against them. Yes! My God is good, He goes before me, He wins battles for me. I can trust Him!

Righteousness

The righteous one rejoices in the Lord and takes refuge in Him; all those who are upright in heart will offer praise. Psalm 64:10 What does a righteous person do? Take refuge in the Lord. People of upright heart praise their God. What do the others do? Manipulate and complain. Only two scenarios, perhaps four: those learning to be righteous and those running from righteousness, the righteous and the unrighteousness. Which are you? Remember you circumstances are not in charge, unless you allow them, why not make character in charge? Interesting thought? Kill self-pity!

Meditating on Him

When I think of You as I lie on my bed, I meditate on You during the night watches because You are my helper; I will rejoice in the shadow of Your wings. I will follow close to You; Your right hand holds on to me. Psalm 63:6-8 Good man David! No wonder the Lord said he was a man after His own heart. Do you know any good men? I do! A man is capable of being loving and faithful, just as a woman is capable of trusting the Lord and not nagging. I am often awake in the night watches, all because the Lord wants to spend time with me, other times it is quiet. I have since come to know that these are times when people are awake and troubled, they also need company and prayer. But the best times are when He wants company, He is good company. Do you know that waiting on the Lord is one of the most fruitful exercises I can do because as I wait, He is busy and by waiting I showing respect. Try waiting, it produces miracles, opens doors, delivers abundance. He is good! His gifts are...

Hungry for God

God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; My body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. So I gaze on You in the sanctuary to see Your strength and Your glory. Psalm 63:1,2 I long to see God's glory, the manifestation of His presence. A life full of Him and His glory is what I seek. Each time I go to church I go hungry for God, more than to meet friends. I know when I find Him, I find life, answers, direction. What is He doing today? It is Father's day. How can I honor Him more than at other times? May You be glorified lord, above the heavens. Amen!

My Rock and My Salvation

Rest in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. Psalm 62:5-7 He has it all together, therefore I can rest. In Him are stability, salvation, glory. All in a God package. My hope is in the name of the Lord, my strength is in the name of the Lord. My God is all I need! Amen! Everything else flows from Him!

Resting Place

I am at rest in God alone; My salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1,2 As I rest in Him, He makes even my enemies friends, He makes a way for me in desert places, Stream flow from rocks, Walls fall down. If God be for me, who???? Can be against me??? Romans 8:31 He is my shield and my song, my open door, my abundant provision. He is God! Amen!
