Higher Ways

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit if wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17 We need His wisdom and revelation. We need to know His way of doing things. When God said: ' my ways are not your ways and my thoughts not your thoughts' is 55:8, Another version says: 'and my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine', He is right. This is the God I serve He is the one I seek. I want to think like He does, speak like He does, act like He does. I want to know the power that stops the waters, provides abundance, raises the dead, stops the mouths of lions. I want to walk like Him. His ways are best for me! Amen! Lord, today I seek You. Amen!

The Master Plan

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. Ephesians 1:3,4 Our race were never intended to stray or want to be 'like God'. We have an enemy who wants to maim, kill and destroy, he deceives even the best and distorts truth so that he can conquer their souls. Yet, before all things came into being we were in our Father's mind; that we would walk with Him in constant fellowship and do great exploits. We were made to shine and reflect His glory. As we are born again we have a fresh start to walk as we were predestined to do. Constantly we have a choice. Which way will we go? The Galatians slipped back into legalism, that seems to be what we do when we start to take charge. We determine 'we will get it right.' Yet in no time we fail and need a saviour. Christ offers us freedom, real ...

My Seal

When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13,14 What does a seal do? It keeps what is inside from being spilt and lost and it keeps what is outside from coming in and spoiling what is inside. So then, the Holy Spirit, which I was given at my spiritual re-birth protects my new life from being lost or tainted. I can willfully break His seal, to my detriment, or honor His protection. My faith in Jesus Christ urges me on to walk a sealed life, a protected life. My seal is not a bondage, far from it, He is the Spirit of the living God. He will take me on adventures that others will only dream about. He is my protection from disease and infirmity, He is my protection from all that would come against me. He is powerful, faithful, gentle. Jesus said: 't...

Struggles

From now on, let no one cause me trouble because I bear on my body scads for the cause of Jesus. Galatians 6:17 Ok guys no more! I've had enough! No more nonsense! I am beaten and bruised enough. I wonder if that is what Paul is saying? I have had moments when I have struggled through a trial and kept my mouth and then along comes someone who loses their bottle over something petty and it makes me feel just like Paul. Get over it guys! I am looking forward to sitting down with apostle Paul one day, and having a discussion about a whole lot of things and find out what he really meant. Today I travelled to Singleton, did 5 appointments and drove home. Glad to see my bed. I think if I had to walk in on petty I would find it hard to relax. All I had were two dogs super excited in seeing me home. It has been raining here and is still humid, tonight I missed my swim! shucks!

Who Do I Submit to?

But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14 God is good and He redeems my life from the grave. It is Him who gives me success and takes me on to greater heights. Over the years I have learned to keep my eyes straight ahead so that there is no voice but His. His ways are much better than mine, His thoughts much greater than mine. As I learn to focus, the voices of the world diminish. The voices of the world are demanding we choose it and its possessions, its gods, its authority. There is no authority but God. His word is final. His ways are the only ones that lead to life. Amen! To obtain the prize I have to look ahead. Amen!

Christian Lovs

Therefore, as we have the opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. Galatians 6:10 I am compelled to stay on this scripture even though I wrote about it this morning. We have to 'get it'. When we are told we are to work for the good of all, it doesn't say 'all our friends'; 'all our family' but just 'all'. Who are all? All are all neighbors, work colleagues, all who ride the bus or train with you, all who shop at the same store, all who drive on the same roads. All! Paul then goes son to say: 'especially those of the household of faith'. This indicates church folk, it does not say 'nice' church folk but just church folk. Not much room for a bad attitude is there? As a Christian I know I have Christ living inside and therefore the power to love in the God kind of way, all. Amen!

Never Give Up!

So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. Galatians 6:9,10 Don't give up! I live in a farming community and know that first the farmer sows the seed and twice a year he harvests. There is a summer crop which is planted in summer and harvested in autumn/winter and a winter crop which is sown in winter and harvested in spring/summer. The farmer will talk about the amount of protein in the crop, the yield of the crop and condition of the crop. We each have a harvest that we reap at the God-given season. If we sow to the flesh we reap a fleshly harvest. For example if I grumble and complain and speak negatively about my job, invariably something awful will come to pass. If I grumble about my spouse he will turn our rotten. If I grumble about my kids they go astray. What I speak I get. I can'...

Know Thy Self

For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each person should examine his own work, then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, not in respect to someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load. Galatians 5:3-5 These verses come after an exhortation to carry one another's burdens. The whole theme in Galatians is not being caught up in legalism or trapping other believers into a works program and then taking benefit from their works. However, I am drawn to the above verses. I know that it is easy to think we are cruising when in fact we are benefiting from someone else's sacrifice. We must truly know ourselves and have insight into what causes blessing and success in our lives. In whose shadow are we walking? Did we really create this event, product or circumstance or are we stealing someone else's glory? I know that my God has inspired me to do two things of late and the glory is not mine ...

Sowing and Reaping

Don't be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to the flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit. So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at proper time if we don't give up. Galatians 6:7-9 So many give up too early. Their reward is outside their doors but they have turned away to another path. I want my prize. I have paid a high price and I will not give up until I have my harvest. As I press in the God I remind Him of my harvest. It is Him who holds all things and I must trust Him to the end. He is able to supply abundantly according to 'His Pockets', as Reinhard Bonnke would say. I am reading 'Living a life of fire', am being stretched and encouraged at the same time. Don't compromise and don't turn away with a bad heart you are almost there!

Spirit Stabiity

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. Galatians 5:24,25 Today I had an opportunity to test this in my own life. After lunch I lay down for a Sunday afternoon nap and my brother, who does not nap, decided to move furniture, making a huge racket waking me prematurely. I struggled with annoyance until I started to praise. Mind you, to praise cost me as it was the last thing I wanted to do but the first thing I needed to do. It worked, of course, and so was able to get over my attitude. Walking in the spirit costs. If costs dedication, a habitual way of doing life.

Spirit Walker

I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don't do what you want. Galatians 5:16,17 I moved to Tamworth on 12 May in obedience to The Lord. The intervening months have not been easy, in fact very trying. I have been pressed down, but not crushed. I have learned a valuable lesson: refuse to confess my circumstances and speak forth what I believed should happen. It works! Our flesh is a whinging, whining spoilt baby who wants its own way but we have a Father who wants us to grow into mature sons and daughter and work in His vineyard. Although all seems to be falling apart in one way new and exciting thins are being birthed in another. On Friday I received word that AMP, my employer, had approved my request for a grant to connect children with old people through story telling. I have a huge vi...

Praise Him?

Hallelujah! Praise God in His sanctuary. Psalm 150:1 Since Christ God lives in the hearts of the believers, we are His sanctuary, His temple. Have you ever inhabited a place you did not like or enjoy? I have! I am there right now. I am in transit to what is mine. When people invite the Lord into their lives but don't move their junk out of the way, not very accommodating. When Jesus comes He offers a brand new start, all things have been made new. He offers deliverance and freedom from all that was a bondage or problem in our lives. He came to set at liberty the captives. Amen! If we constrain Him and put Him in a little room in our lives then we miss out. We cannot accept Christ in token only He is an all- consuming fire. He has all, brings all, gives all. How about you? My role in life us to open up all my life to Him and allow Him free reign. As I do His might and power comes to me. I praise You Lord for You are so good and Your love endures forever. Amen!

Saved to Praise

For Yahweh takes pleasure in His people. He adorns the humble with salvation. Let the godly celebrate in triumphal glory ; let them shout for joy on there beds. Psalm 149:4,5 I remember the process that brought me to Christ. The Holy Spirit revealed my sin to me, I became desperate and humbled myself and obeyed. He told me at 1am in the morning: 'go to Anne!' Anne was one of the born again women I knew and I only knew 2. I knocked on Annie's door and she let me in asking: ' what is the matter Di?' I told her if the revelation if my sin. She opened her bible and read: ' for God so loved the world that He sent His only beloved Son so that whoever believed in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him.' John 3:16,17 I said to her: 'I can see, I can see!' Once I was blind but now I see! The word of God says: 'he gives grace to the h...

What Impresses our God?

He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; He does not value the power of man. The Lord values those who fear Him, Those who put their hope in His faithful love. Psalm 147.10,11 How good is that? My God is not checking out my performance but He is watching my faithmomenter! He regards things we do not. We look outwardly He looks inwardly. As woman I can say: a man who knows himself; his God; and knows how to genuinely respect and honour others is more attractive than a taut body of a man who is full of self. I trust my dogs instinct. If they like a person them they must be ok. They know an abuser when they meet them, no matter how good the show. The inside is more important than the outside. A genuine person is valuable!

He is Lord!

The Lord is righteous in all His ways and gracious in all His acts.. The Lord is near all who call out to Him, All who call out to Him with integrity. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry for help and saves them. Psalm 145:17-19 The Lord is good and in His is pure light, there are no shadows. No deception here! No cheating but only a promise that comes to pass. God's word is true and full of integrity, worthy of praise. God's answers are always there. He does not ignore, we sometimes need to turn our heads to hear and see. The answers are in the direction He knows best, not what I dictate. His provision comes via His hand servant not through my set ways. Allow Him to surprise and delight. Allow Him to be GOD! His salvation comes in a never ending stream. He is drawing souls, always drawing. Be available to pray, to speak, to give. May Your Kingdom come Lord! Amen!

Faithful

He remains faithful forever, executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises those who are oppressed. Psalm 146:6-8 The Lord is good! He is faithful and holds His word above His name. He even says of himself: ' what I have said will I not do?' Nowadays people say: 'I will call you back.' But never do. Their word is not their bond. But, there is one who keeps His word, without fail. He is faithful. Amen

Face Off the Enemy

May the Lord my rock, be praised, who trains my hand for battle and my fingers for warfare. He is my faithful love and my fortress, My stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him; He subdues my people under me. Psalm 143:1,2 A soldier when he first enters the army is 'green', young, tender and untried. His training sharpens him, makes him aware but battle proves him. The battle is where I become an adult in Christ. I know His ways when I am fronting the enemy. I understand that He, my captain, is there for me. I understand all that is His is mine. I understand what I can appropriate in any circumstance. There is no 'No!' In Him. My Lord has already won over my enemy but I must take my own territory from him. Like a chained dog he still is nasty and vicious and needs to learn that I know who I am and what is my authority. God's word is living and active. It is full of power. It is my sword, my faith is my shield. It is interes...

Pressed Down?

For the enemy has pursued me, crushing me to the ground, making me live in darkness like those long dead. My spirit is weak within me; My heart is overcome with dismay. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all You have done; I reflect on the works of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; I am like parched land before you. Answer me quickly, Lord; My spirit fails. Don't hide Your face from me, Or I will be like those going down to the pit. Psalm 143:3-7 Ooh I have been here! Have you? Are you still there? Determine He is the answer and refuse to leave His door. Jesus told his disciples that we have to be persistent, annoyingly so, in prayer and never give up. We have many enemies; fear, doubt, anxiety, self-pity, condemnation and the list goes on. They array against you determined to take you out. Self-pity is the doorway for the others. If you refuse to feel sorry for yourself then you toughen up, like a seasoned warrior. No matter how pressed down I fee...

Is There Hope?

Along this path I travel they have hidden a trap for me. Look to the right and see no one stands up for me; There is no refuge for me, No one cares about me. Psalm 142;3,4     Ever feel like this? I have had some of the darkest and loneliest moments in my life over the past 9 years but I have found One who never leaves.   I have stepped out to be obedient to my God and only 1 friend supported me and he died horribly with cancer. My children doubted me and my siblings felt sorry for me, my mother struggled to believe. But there was One who never forsook me.   Over this time I came to know this One intimately. He is good, He is God, He is faithful, He is sufficient.   No amount of pain, fear, doubt, rejection, abuse is too much for Him. His love conquerors all.   Why did I suffer? Many suffer, but we must find Him. He has the answers, the peace, the provision.   I came to know that He will always provide as long...

Compromise

Lord, set a guard on my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips. Do not let my heart turn to any evil thing or perform wicked acts with men who commit sin. Do not let me feast on their delicacies. Let the righteous one strike me- an act of faithful love; Let him rebuke me- It is oil for my head; Let me not refuse it. Psalm 141:1-5 A few weeks ago I felt trapped in helping a client but walking into danger. I have strict compliance I now must follow and realised I was walking into a compromise. I was caught and cried to The Lord for assistance and he delivered me. At times clients can insist on their own way nor caring about consequences and I have to consider consequences. I also do not want to lay a foundation that is built on deception or compromise. If I let one 'small' thing through it is the beginning of a bad thing. Not long after along came another wanting compromise and I had to say no and stand my ground. How do we get to 'big' errors? Begin with...

Strong Saviour

Lord God, my strong Saviour, You shield my head on the day of battle. Psalm 140:7 Our battle field is in the mind, it is there we are attacked. Our malevolent enemies: accuser, spirit of heaviness, tempter, liar all come at our mind. A Christian has a helmet of Salvation which we must put on daily. We must put on the mind of Christ or we will fall for anything. The Lord is our shield but only if we choose Him above all other. We must choose what the word of God says over all other voices and not only that we must speak it out. Today is a good time to start. Shoot laziness out the door and take up your sword, which is the word of God. Speak it out! Amen!

Blessed to Be Born

For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, When I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; All my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began. Psalm 139:13-16 For all those people who were born on the 13th day of a month and regard it as a curse, note these scriptures start at verse 13 and go for 3 verses. I like number 13. There is a 1 (me) and 3 (the Godhead three in one) and the scripture takes 3 verses to explain how the Godhead being 3 were involved in my coming to be. I have an aunt and a grandson who were both born on the 13 November. Both are blessed and equally special. I have a new grandchild due any day soon. I await the birth with excitement. I, who did not form the...

You Have Encircled Me

Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away. You observe my travels and my rest; You are aware of all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord. You have encircled me; You have placed Your hand on me. Psalm 139:1-6 'You have encircled me'. Love it!!! As I read this I read about a loving God who so wants to be involved and so intimately connected. My God loves me! The more I choose to trust him and not moan about circumstances, the more He provides for all I need and then the more I trust Him the more He shows himself trustworthy. He really does delight in a quiet mouth but a heart alive with praise. This is good! It works! Yes! Today I had a miracle! Again! All I need is coming! The less I panic the more peace and joy I have! Amen! He is soooo good!

He is Good!

If I walk into the thick of danger you will preserve my life from the Angela of the enemy. You extend your hand Your right hand will save me. The Lord will fulfil His purpose for me. Lord, Your love is eternal; do not abandon the work of Your hands. Psalm 138:7,8 No matter what I have to trust The Lord. His ways are eternal, His purposes everlasting. He is good and His plans for me are yes and amen! He goes before me and prepares a way. I can trust Him. No matter what comes my way He has a way of escape. Amen! Today I wake in Boggabri where I have godly friends. How good it is to have good fellowship, it feeds my spirit. I am truly grateful. I am back on the road after breakfast having accomplished what I set out to do. We stepping into a new chapter and our God goes before us. Amen!

Increased Strength

On the day I called, You answered me; You increased strength with me. Psalm 138:3 Calling on The Lord rather than whining to The Lord, increases strength. Whining and complaining empties out your strength. Speak the word of God over you life it ignites faith, call forth life from the ashes and He gets excited. Want to see The Lord dance? Start to behave like a victor and He will bring the war paint.

Let the Blessing Flow

Now praise The Lord, all you servants of The Lord who stand in the Lord's house at night! Lift up your hands in the holy place and praise The Lord! May The Lord, maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion. Psalm 134:1-3 Are you found in the Lord's presence in the night? We have nights in our life when we walk through darkness and The Lord is our light, our way and to Him we run. Bless Him and thank Him for the answer even through bleakness is all around. Speak forth the blessing, praise the God of abundance. Now is the time of release, the time of blessing, the time of fulfilment. Your mind may disagree but then do not give it authority over your spirit. Rise up spirit and prophesy to those dry bones, that dead and lifeless form. As sure as day follows night the river will flow out of that rock. Amen!

Brothers

How good and how pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) live together in harmony! Psalm 133:1 Unity, what does it mean and stand for? Wholeness, accord, oneness, peace, undivided are all words with similar meanings. How can this happen in a bunch of individuals? Well perhaps working for the one goal and purpose. However, the apostles Paul and Barnabas fell out about the presence of John Mark in their outreaches. Why? Was God not involved? Yes but so were strong personalities. They had one purpose, the spreading of the gospel yet they disagreed on the taking of one of the gospel writers. Where does that leave us? Just as vulnerable but with the same God who works all things for our good. I know He uses the antagonism of those in my world who reject me to bump me onto the right course, for this I am truly grateful because they were tools in His hands. He uses these episodes to see Him and not the upset. His beauty is a lot more palatable than bad manners. Look for Him! If...

One Way

The idols of the nations are of silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears but cannot see, indeed, there is no breath in their mouths. Those who made them are just like them, as are all who trust in them. Psalm 136:15-18 Today many people buy Buddha images to put in their homes, they are trendy. There is an invasion from Asia and the gullible and running to them en masse. A culture that denies the existence of God reaches out for what appeals to the senses. The Buddha lived a life and espoused ideals that appeal without bringing conviction of the need for God and His ways. Christ said he was the way, the truth, the life, no man or wan comes to the Father but by Him. In John 10 Jesus taught about the attributes of a good shepherd. In verse 1 He says; 'I tell you anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the door but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.' In verse 7 He says: ' I assure...

Blessed

I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown he wears will be glorious. Psalm 132:18 Why not believe you world is full of abundance, glory, majesty, beauty, favour, instead of emptiness and shame. That is the reward of the wicked. How about confessing blessing? Shame is reserved for our enemies not us. If I am the righteousness of God, then I am blessed? If I am blessed then I better act blessed, think blessed, speak blessed. Amen!

Simple Faith

Lord my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I do not get involved in things too great or too difficult for me. Instead I have calmed and quieted myself like a little weaned child with its mother; I am like a little child. Psalm 131:1,2 The joy of being simple. A child, a little child, relies on their mother. They are unable to survive long without this connection. How complicated we become, how clever and independent and rule bound. We constantly think: 'if I do this I get that.' It becomes all about me and my effort instead of Him and His sacrifice. Galatians 3:10 says that 'all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse'. Yuck! 'The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles (me) by Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promised spirit through faith.' 'Now faith is the evidence of things hoped for'.... It is concrete but it is not works. Ponder on that!

Gracious Redemption

For there is faithful love with The Lord, and with Him is redemption in abundance. Psalm 130:7 This was written pre-Christ, when a person was expected to keep the law and yet the psalmist wrote that there was 'redemption in abundance.' Did this psalmist understand a relationship based on faith like his forefather Abraham? Or was he particularly good at keeping the law? You and I have a ready access to the Father through the cross. A born again Christian understands grace (well, should understand). The Galatians missed the truth and started a works programme. Paul addressed them as foolish Galatians who had lost their way. They had begun in faith and ended up in works Christ saw we were unable to connect with the Father because of our sin so he made a way by becoming the perfect, once for all, sacrifice. His blood was enough, and enough for all to eternity. I do not have to earn my way but believe my way and accept His grace. Faith is enough to receive and it opens the...

Law or Love

Plowmen ploughed over my back; they made their furrows long. The Lord is righteous; He has cut the ropes of the wicked. Psalm 129:3,4 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse.....Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: 'everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.' Galatians 3:10-13 Living under a curse is like having someone plough furrows down your back. You are chained to failure to fulfil the law, subject to scorn. Living under grace, conversely, is living in freedom and favour. By choosing Christ you choose favour. Are there a lot of: 'this happens to me because I am not doing such and such' in your life? Are you binding yourself to a curse through law and legalism? Where is faith? Where is trusting Christ for grace to bring you through? We live this life by faith in the Son of God. He is our peace who has broken down every wall. He is our saviour we do not save ourselves by legal...

The Best Relationship

How happy is everyone who fears The Lord, who walks in His ways! Psalm 128:1 Want to be happy? Start a relationship with The Lord! Invite His presence into your life. In the New Testament the veil has been torn in two. No longer can we only know him through a priest! No longer is He distant, He will live inside your heart. He will speak to you, reveal himself to you, counsel you, guide you. Invite Him in! He is more loving than the best father, closer and more faithful than the best lover, ever reliable, not moody, not changeable, does not lie. What a guy!

Master Builder

Unless The Lord builds a house, It's builders labour it in vain; unless The Lord watches over a city, the watchman stay alert in vain. In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food- yes, He gives sleep to the one He loves. Psalm 127:1,2 In anything in life, if it is full of struggle and weariness it could be the wrong project. However, if it is the right project and You can't see God in it and you are in fear you are also in trouble. The Lord has led me into projects and because of poor self- image ( I didn't see me the way He does) I struggled and had sleepless nights. I had to learn to trust that he really does love me, really wants to use me and really wants the best outcome. I know that He is in control as I watch Him provide time an again. There is no bill unpaid and he is growing me as I continue to step out. He is good! The important thing I have learned is: there are times of abundance and times of leanness. The abundant times...

Reaping

Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves. Psalm 126:5,6 This is a prophetic statement. I hear a lot of these at New Year's Eve and at other momentous occasions. Does it mean all the hearers will be blessed? No! It depends on the individual. Do they have faith when they hear? Where are you at? Do you know the timing of the prophesy? Is it now or later? How much later?

Our Inheritance

The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous. Psalm 125:3 Each of us has an inheritance to take up. In Australia there are millions of dollars of superannuation that has not been taken up by the rightful owners. Why? They have moved residence, changed jobs but more importantly it has not been high on their priority list. Yet, they will want it one day, at retirement. As Christians we have been allotted an inheritance but we have to choose to take it up. On our inheritance there are squatters we need to evict to take possession. If you are unwilling to fight for your inheritance you will not receive it. The scepter of the wicked can only stay while you allow it. Again, it is a matter of choice. Today, will you choose to believe and also will you step into the fray with your sword drawn (the word of God). Remember, you overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony. Amen! We have an inheritance to take up

Freedom

We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's net; the net is torn, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of The Lord the maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124:7,8 The Lord is our deliverer but more importantly our saviour. I so grateful that Christ came and delivered us from the curse of the law. Living by a set of rules is not life but living life in the spirit, now that's talking! Galatians 3:23 says: 'before this faith came, we were confined under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith was revealed. The law, then, was our guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by faith. But since that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.' I rejoice with all that I am that Christ set me free from the law. I grew up in law in Catholicism and laboured to find God in the law. Aaaaahhh! But oh that glorious night when he revealed himself to me. My chains fell off, my eyes were opened...

Dry Spells

When The Lord restored the fortunes of Zion we were like those who dream, Our mouths were filled with laughter then and our tongues with the shouts of joy. Psalm 126:1,2 In an instant God showed up in Job's world. In an instant Jesus appeared healing the sick yet the was much time in the waiting. When God shows up we are full of Joy I have been around for two revivals and another is coming. Dry spells make us desperate and desperate people find God!

Favour in the Face of Christ

Show us favour, Lord, show us favour, for we have had more than enough contempt. Psalm 123:3 This morning I read about a 92 year old man who is in a refugee camp. He has lost all his possessions and all his family. He is hungry and very alone. I see many such stories as I have UNHCR and World Vision on my Facebook. As I see the lust Nd greed in the west and watch the great divide I grieve. Both parties have one thing in common: a need for Jesus Christ. A relationship with Christ help one in poverty as He is their comfort and provision. The one in abundance who has Christ has a heart for the poor and does not waste their lives on consumerism. As Paul the apostle once said: I have had plenty and I have had lack but in both of those states I have more than enough because I have Christ. He needs to be my governor, my check, my balance, my provider, my all. If I have been crucified with Christ then He lives in me, I no longer live and I live through faith in Him. I have be...

My Help Comes

I will lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from The Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. The Lord protects you; The Lord is a shelter right by your side. The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life. The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever. Psalm 121 Ever been unsure of the Lord's protection? Here is the answer. He is always there! You might say: 'but what if I messed up?' Repent and forgive yourself and then trust again. You cannot afford to live with condemnation. You have an enemy who wants to destroy you. He is relentless. Don't give him room. When we sin it helps us to gain perspective when we accept we are saved by grace and not of our own works. If we able to be saved ...

Lying Lips

In my distress I called to the Lord, and He answered me. Lord, deliver me from lying lips and a deceitful tongue. Psalm 120:1,2 How easy is it to bend the truth? A quick answer may come out and you find yourself thinking, mmm that was not quite what happened. Why did I say that? And before you know it you are making it right. Sounds like a lying spirit doesn't it. How sneaky is the enemy of our soul. If we continue to allow this behaviour the slide is in place towards big, blatant lies that can cost us a fortune in lost credibility, relationships and favour. We need to pray like David did: create in me a clean heart oh God! We will be constantly faced with opportunities to lie or walk in truth. What will we choose? Stress and pressure obscure facts and confuse us, maintaining correct balance can only be done as we come back to centre and He must be there. He will deliver from lying lips and a deceitful tongue. Amen!

Praise For Grace

My lips pour out praise, for You teach me Your statutes. My tongue sings about Your promise, for all Your commands are righteous. Psalm 118:171,172 I have been reading Galatians and must say the gospel of Grace is so much better than the struggle under the law. Verse 1:16 says we know that no one is justified by the works o the law bit by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the work of re law no human being will be justified. To live without the power of Christ in me is abhorrent to me. To have been doomed to live my life with Him would be devastating. I so grateful he saved me, so grateful. Me without Christ is not a good look. Me with Christ is life and power and glory beyond my wildest dreams. He is soooo good. Amen! Knowing the difference between law and grace causes my spirit to rise up in praise. All glory, all honour to Him. All gratitude all blessing...

Peace Abundantly

Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your instruction; nothing makes them stumble. Psalm 119:165 Well now! There is the answer to your quest for peace. Love the Lord's instruction! Stumbling and offense rob us of peace. Either we churn with: 'I should not have said that, why did I say that!' Or:'they should not have done that, what a horrible person!' Blaa! Blaa! Blaa! You can avoid all that with loving the Lord's instruction. Where do you get it! Reading the bible, regularly! 'Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path'. There is only one manual you need. There is only one opinion you need. You could save yourself a lot of money by heeding that admonition. Learn to accept the word of God and live your life by it and you will truly live. Amen!

Faithful Love

Consider how I love Your precepts; Lord give me life according to Your faithful love. Psalm 119:159 The Lord is close to all who call out to Him. I remember how quickly He came to me when I was just 19 and coming to salvation. What a glorious night that was. 1am in the morning. Going from darkness to light, filthy sinner to saint. He has been with me throughout the years and never failed me. Where would I be without Him? Lost! He is ever willing to give life to all who ask, He loves relationship with us that much. How can we understand a God who sent His Son to die for us? Yet He did. I am blessed and know it! I am loved and know it! I am redeemed and know it! Yet all I have is not for me. It is for His kingdom. I am sent as a fisher of men. What I have freely been given I must also give. You can call out to Him on your bed, in your car on the way to work, wherever you are you do not have to wait until you go to church. Church is where you go to celebrate and connec...

Meditate

I rise before dawn and cry out for help; I put my hope in Your word. I am awake through each watch of the night and meditate on Your promise. Psalm 119: 147,148 This guy knows where to find help. My help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth, psalm 124:8 Sleeplessness is a sign of a troubled mind plus may other disturbances. I know because it had plagued me at 3am in the morning. Fear would greet my waking mind and I would have to meditate on the word of God many a blog has been written at 3am. Sometimes it is The Lord who meets me, then I will spend a few hours in sweet fellowship. Turning my mind to the scriptures sure was a good move. Darkness has to flee the light. Peace is found in the scripture. Amen!

His Word

Lord, Your word is forever, it is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness is for all generations; You established the earth, and it stands firm. They stand today in accordance with your judgements, For all things are Your servants. Psalm 119:89-91 Do you think God is rubbery? By this I mean fickle or changeable? We can so easily judge God by our own way of thinking. However, He tells us':for my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are my ways your ways'. Is 55:8,9 he goes on the qualify this statement by saying : as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my thoughts higher than Your thoughts and my ways higher than Your ways. He stands firm, fixed when it comes to His word. He places the importance of His word above His name. He is faithful and true, totally trustworthy. All things are used by God and are made for a purpose. Even evil men are used by God. I can totally trust Him to protect me and use the evil person for His will. You see, He is God! ...

Our Elders

Though I have become like a wine skin dried by smoke, I do not forget Your statutes. Psalm 119:83 Sorry folks I am including this because I love the word picture more than any other reason. Awesome! As we age we begin to wrinkle just like the wine skin. I remember visiting my great aunty in hospital when she was 93. I had taken my mother with me and when we turned the corner to where we knew her bed was it appeared to be occupied by a stranger but on close inspection it was my aunt. She had shriveled up. I wonder what is going through the mind of the psalmist. We he feeling old or actually was aware he was aging? Either way there are two relevant experiences portrayed here. I find myself wishing that our elders would not desert The Lord like they are now doing. They are condoning all sorts of impurity and even practicing them, themselves. If the elders are turning their back on the Lord's ways what hope is there do their children and grandchildren. Who will uphold rig...

Victor or Victim

Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I can learn Your commands. Psalm 119:73 As we wake each day we clothe ourselves with outwardly garments. We may fail to realize it but in the spirit two garments (undergarments) wait to be chosen. Written on one is: 'I am a victim, I can't help who I or what I do, this is what I was dealt in life.' On the other is: 'I am a child of the most high God. I am blessed, beautiful, full of God's presence and made for victory.' The weird thing is: what ever is our default setting is the garment we wear without thinking. If your default is 'victim' and you fail to recognise the other, anything else you do today will be coloured by these garments. Why not choose life today? Why walk in defeat? Seek The Lord, His word and the power therin! Be blessed!

Habits

This is my practice: I obey Your precepts psalm 119: 56 Having a practice, a habit keeps you at all times, good and bad. We can easily adopt habits. The easiest are the most appealing. This does not mean they are good, just easy. The hardest habits to adopt are those that require work and if our core ethic is to avoid hard tasks then we will struggle until we re-write the script. Do yourself a favour, get to know yourself, then it is easier to change.

Good Judgement

Lord, You have treated Your servant well, just as You promised. Teach me good judgement and discernment, for I rely on Your commands. Psalm 119:65,66 Today saying I want to know commands lifts an eyebrow from those who hear. Western society is a most rebellious society and likes the power to do as it pleases. Yet, for the wise and discerning, the word of God holds life, abundant life! To live well we need a constant flow of abundant life. Where can this be found? Living a life centered on God and others is a good starting point. Jesus promised wells of living water overflowing out of the one who commits their life to Him. John 4:14 and John 7:38. So, basically, today your choice is: do my own thing and pay the price in my body and mind; give my life to Christ and live an abundant life above my circumstances constantly loved and protected, guided and fellowship end by the creator of the universe. The choice is yours! Two roads are before you. Today choose life! Amen!

Turning Back

I thought about my ways and turned my steps back to Your decrees. I hurried, not hesitating to keep Your commands. Psalm 119:59,60 This is called repentance. Being able to repent is good, having a heart to repent even better. There are some areas we unhesitatingly repent in, others we are blind to our need. Do you know how to spot them? One good way is that you will notice yourself becoming hotly defensive of them. Warning! Warning! Warning! Intruder alert! Sanity says: 'why are you defending a stronghold of the enemy in your life? Why don't you want to be free?' Others can see it but you are blind!that is why it is good to allow others or an other to speak into your life.

Your Word

Remember Your word to Your servant; You have given me hope through it. Psalm 119:49 The greatest challenge a Christian faces is: will God keep His word and His promises? It is not that God is changeable but rather, can I trust? Can I believe? The problem lies with us. God says that He is unchangeable and totally faithful. Our problem is that we have not experienced this from others in our world and it is not something we fully understand. However, we have a God who wants to reveal His character to us. He is totally reliable, totally faithful, totally dependable. Hebrews tells us that: God's word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing bone and marrow, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.(Hebrews 4:12) His word is full of power, full of life, fully able to perform all that it is sent to do. Is 55:11. It never returns to Him without performing what it was sent to do. Now if His word does this then we need to make our words agree ...

Seek His Ways

I will walk freely in an open place because I seek Your precepts. Psalm 119:45 Not having a guilty conscience gives a lightness to your steps, a freedom to your mind. Having a heart towards God bring freedom. When we walk in the light, as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another. We don't need to avoid people because we are clean. A clean heart is so satisfying, much better than winning a games, overcoming personal obstacles, receiving a gift. When you are free you don't have an 'axe to grind'. When I seek God's Kingdom and His righteousness then everything else is added besides.

Turn My Heart

Turn my heart to Your decrees and not to material gain. Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways. Psalm 118:36,37 There is an old hymn that says: 'Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.' What we ponder and look upon becomes our Lord and master. What are you giving you heart, soul and mind to? Is the world and its lusts captivating you? Are you obsessed with getting? The lust for stuff? A higher promotion; more money? This god is empty and made of wood. Life is not found there. Jesus said: 'I am The Way, The Truth, The life. No one comes to the Father but by me.' His word is true, His blood is real, He is the answer. Amen! Nothing else will answer or satisfy! Amen!
